INFO:
4 things sri lanka taught me: ✨ trusting my gut over ppl pleasing: whether it was leaving a hostel i had just checked into or ending a volunteer role early bc i was uncomfortable, i reminded myself that i have free will ✨ the beauty in sitting alone: i wouldn’t have met half of the amazing people i did if i wasn’t traveling solo - especially the long conversations with locals on trains, over meals, and on hikes ✨ the importance of watching the clouds pass: finding peace in the present moment, knowing i have nowhere to be except right here, right now ✨ the similarities between budget backpacking & meditating: letting go of comforts im used to… cold showers for a month, sleeping with bugs & lizards, 15 ppl in a room, wearing the same few clothes, and 10 hr train rides (and feeling more like myself than ever)
